Nghe An has become a "bright spot" in attracting FDI in Vietnam thanks to its appropriate investment attraction strategy, which has drawn numerous large-scale projects.
The Nghe An Provincial People's Committee recently announced the situation of attracting foreign investment to Nghe An province in 2024.
Accordingly, in 2024, Nghe An attracted more than 1.74 billion USD in FDI, an increase of 8.8% compared to 2023. This includes 19 newly licensed projects with a total registered investment capital of 867.8 million USD; 14 projects adjusted to increase investment capital by 881.76 million USD; and 2 instances of foreign investors contributing capital or purchasing shares, totaling 0.04 million USD. That result placed Nghe An 8th out of 63 provinces and cities in Vietnam for FDI attraction.
As of the end of 2024, Nghe An had 169 valid FDI projects with a total registered investment capital of more than 5.68 billion USD.
Previously, in 2022 and 2023, Nghe An ranked among the top 10 provinces and cities in Vietnam for FDI attraction.
The continuous selection of Nghệ An as an investment destination by major FDI enterprises and its three consecutive years in the top 10 for FDI attraction have proven that Nghe An's investment environment is very attractive, thereby maintaining FDI inflows into its industrial parks.
Several countries and territories have made large FDI in Nghe An, including Hong Kong (China) with 1.925 billion USD, followed by China with 1.313 billion USD, Singapore with 1.097 billion USD, Taiwan with 625.65 million USD, Thailand with 185.03 million USD, Japan with 145.11 million USD, Korea with 114.86 million USD, and India with 28 million USD.
Notably, several international giants have invested in Nghe An, such as Foxconn, Goertek, Everwin, JuTeng, and Luxshare ICT. These are all reputable with effective production and business activities, environmentally friendly, and strictly complying with international law as well as the laws of the host country.
In addition to investment capital, FDI enterprises have brought to Nghe An advanced technology, modern production lines, and new management models. This not only enhances the competitiveness of domestic enterprises but also creates opportunities for technology transfer and training of high-quality local human resources.
