The Japan-Vietnam Mold Club held its 12th Technology Exchange and Presentation Meeting in the Mold Industry in Hanoi on November 27, 2025. The theme was "The Direction of the Vietnamese Mold Industry Expectated by Japanese Machinery Manufacturers." Aimed at companies operating in the mold industry in Japan and Vietnam, the Exchange Meeting facilitated the sharing of ideas about the future of the mold industry from the perspective of manufacturers of injection molding and pressing machines.
The presentation was divided into two parts: the morning session in Vietnamese language and the afternoon session in Japanese language, facilitating participation for both domestic companies and Japanese companies operating in Vietnam. The venue was the conference room at the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (JCCI).
During the day of the event, four companies presented: injection molding manufacturers Sodick and S.H.I. Plastic Machinery, along with stamping machine manufacturers Yamada Dobby and Aida Engineering, each presented their views on the necessary direction for Vietnam's mold industry, based on their own initiatives and practical knowledge. A Q&A session was then held to exchange ideas.
A social party was held in the evening, allowing for more in-depth information exchange among participants.
In the evening, a party took place, creating conditions for more extensive information exchange between participating parties. This exchange provided an opportunity for Japanese manufacturers and Vietnamese companies to deepen mutual understanding and consider future industrial development directions.
Mr. Yoshinaka, President of the Japan-Vietnam Mold Club, commented on the exchange: "Through presentations on advanced production machinery, I think this is a good opportunity to consider the direction Vietnam should take in the future." Expressing his hope for the future, he added: "If this event is an opportunity for participating companies to consider the efforts needed domestically to procure molds used in such production equipment right here in Vietnam, then the Japan-Vietnam Mold Club will consider this event a great success".
He also pointed out that recently, the number of domestic companies participating has consistently surpassed that of Japanese companies. In this year's applications, the number of Vietnamese companies participating is almost double that of Japanese companies, showing a growing desire to proactively learn Japanese technology. He also acknowledged: "These activities also contribute to the Japan-Vietnam Initiative proposed by the Japanese Embassy."
