T&T Group partners with Chinese firms to produce energy storage batteries

On November 8, during the Vietnam-China Business Forum in Chongqing (China), T&T Group signed cooperation agreements with leading Chinese energy companies such as Cospowers and Goldwind. This strategic move aims to develop green energy, promote sustainable energy industrialization, and ensure national energy security.

Establishing an energy storage battery plant

T&T Energy, a subsidiary of T&T Group, signed a strategic agreement with Cospowers Co., Ltd. to construct an energy storage battery manufacturing plant in Vietnam. The project is planned in two phases: phase one will have a capacity of 2 GWh/year with a total investment of approximately 193 billion VND, while phase two will increase total capacity to 10 GWh/year.

T&T Energy will be responsible for site selection and completing legal procedures, while Cospowers will handle technology, operations, and market development. Both parties are also exploring investment opportunities for manufacturing energy storage products to meet demand from renewable and standalone energy projects in Vietnam.

Developing an energy support industrial zone

Additionally, T&T Group and Goldwind committed to developing an energy support industrial zone in Vietnam. Goldwind will share expertise, invest in building wind power equipment manufacturing facilities, and assist T&T Group in supplying equipment to domestic and international markets.

This industrial zone is expected to provide a stable supply chain for the renewable energy sector, reduce production costs, localize technology, and move toward technological independence, decreasing reliance on foreign sources. The project is also anticipated to create job opportunities and promote the development of related industries.

Furthermore, T&T Group and Goldwind have agreed to collaborate on strategic equipment supply for wind power projects, including turbine customization, wind resource assessment, and operational optimization.

Advancing green energy development

Currently, T&T Group operates 10 solar and wind power plants with a combined capacity of nearly 1,000 MW. The company is also collaborating with international partners such as KOGAS, KOSPO, and HANWHA (South Korea) to implement the Hai Lang LNG power project, phase one, with a capacity of 1,500 MW and an investment of 2.5 billion USD.

T&T Group is further partnering with SK (South Korea) on green hydrogen production and carbon capture, working with Erex (Japan) to develop biomass power plants, and collaborating with Marubeni (Japan) on offshore wind power.

The group aims to achieve a total capacity of 12-15 GW from renewable and low-emission power plants by 2035, accounting for about 10% of the country’s total installed capacity.

Collaboration with domestic and international partners not only strengthens T&T Group’s position in green energy but also contributes to industrialization, environmental protection, and sustainable development in Vietnam.
