Vietnamese startup Selex Motors has not only exported electric motorcycles with over 70% local content to the Philippines but also introduced an ecosystem that allows drivers to fully charge their batteries in just two minutes.
Recently, through its official Facebook fanpage, Selex Motors announced the official export of its Selex Camel electric motorcycle model, along with its ecosystem and battery-swapping infrastructure, to the Philippine market.
Selex Motors is making its first foray into the international market. The company, established in 2018, is dedicated to the development of smart electric vehicles and battery technology. Initially, the company is focusing on the logistics sector, which has high mobility demands and a strong need to optimize costs.
"Logistics is the sector most likely to adopt the transition to electric vehicles first and fastest," said Nguyen Huu Phuoc Nguyen, Co-founder & CEO of Selex Motors.
With this goal in mind, Selex Motors launched the Selex Camel electric motorcycle in November 2022, specifically designed for logistics. The startup proudly introduced it as the "first electric pickup motorcycle in Southeast Asia."

Selex Motors' electric ecosystem currently consists of four components: the Selex Camel motorcycle, Selex batteries, automatic battery-swapping stations, and an app that manages the entire ecosystem.
The core of this ecosystem is the battery-swapping solution, allowing users to replace a fully charged battery in just two minutes at a station via the app, avoiding the typical 3-8 hour charging time. According to the company’s website, Selex Motors currently operates 71 battery-swapping stations nationwide.
Selex Motors' manufacturing plant for electric motorcycles and lithium-ion battery packs has an annual capacity of 20,000 motorcycles and 100,000 battery packs. The company’s products are produced with over 70% local content.
In addition to expanding its battery-swapping network, the company plans to develop new vehicle models targeting different market segments and aims to expand into other Southeast Asian countries in the coming years.
