Hanoi to develop nearly 324-ha clean industrial park in Soc Son

On January 8, 2025, the Hanoi People’s Committee issued Decision No. 45/QD-UBND approving the zoning plan for the Soc Son clean industrial park at a 1/2000 scale. The project will span approximately 323.9 hectares across the Minh Tri and Tan Dan communes in Soc Son District, Hanoi.

The aim of this zoning plan is to align with several key national and regional strategies, including the development of industrial parks in Vietnam, the master plan for Hanoi’s construction through 2030 with a vision to 2050, which has been approved by the Prime Minister, and the adjusted master plan for Hanoi through 2045 with a vision to 2065. It also supports the general construction plan for Soc Son District approved by the Hanoi People’s Committee and the plan to establish 2-5 new industrial parks between 2021 and 2025.

This project will foster local employment and economic growth, reduce pressure on jobs in the area, and contribute to Soc Son’s goal of becoming an industrial center with strong integration into regional and international markets. It will attract investment from both domestic and foreign businesses, boost competitiveness, and support the broader economic development of the region and the country. Additionally, it will serve as a foundation for building the industrial park’s technical infrastructure, ensuring adequate facilities for the city’s growing industrial system.

The planned industrial park will include several types of land use, such as administrative and management areas, commercial and service zones, worker housing, public service facilities, production facilities, warehouses, and security zones to ensure public safety and prevent fires. It will also feature green spaces, landscaping, and transportation infrastructure.

According to the Hanoi People’s Committee, the Soc Son clean industrial park will be developed with modern, integrated infrastructure to meet the production needs of investors. The focus will be on clean industries, with priorities given to sectors such as electronics, information technology, machinery, automotive manufacturing, new materials, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and textiles. These industries will employ advanced, environmentally friendly technologies to minimize pollution.

It is projected that the park will employ approximately 18,000 workers, with an average of 60 to 80 workers per hectare of industrial land.
