Goertek Vina, a subsidiary of Goertek Inc. (China), is set to double its production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to 60,000 units per year.
According to the environmental impact assessment report by Goertek Vina, the factory at Que Vo Industrial Park (Bac Ninh) is currently producing 30,000 UAVs annually and will increase its production lines to eight.
After the expansion, the factory is expected to double its UAV output to 60,000 units per year.
In addition, the project will also add production and assembly of UAV components, including position identification map cards, charging devices, battery management controllers, control devices, and other related equipment, amounting to around 31,000 products annually.
Goertek Vina was first granted an investment certificate in January 2019, with the most recent update in November, bringing the total investment to nearly 566 million USD. The company started producing UAVs in April 2023.
Besides UAVs, Goertek's Bac Ninh factory also manufactures a wide range of electronic devices, such as headphones, virtual reality glasses, drones, and phone speakers, with an annual production capacity of 1.1 billion units.
