Binh Dinh invites UAE enterprises to invest in the province

Within the framework of the UAE – Vietnam Business Forum held in Hanoi on August 26, 2024, a delegation from Binh Dinh Province, led by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, held a working session with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Vietnam and representatives from two UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

During the meeting, Hoang provided an overview of Binh Dinh’s potential, advantages, and development orientation, particularly in areas attracting investment. He emphasized that the province has completed infrastructure development for transportation and industrial zones, most notably Becamex VSIP Binh Dinh, which is fully equipped with utilities and services. The province has also prepared clean land resources and offers favorable investment policies to meet the needs of foreign investors.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang expressed his hope that Ambassador Bader Almatrooshi would act as a bridge to introduce potential UAE businesses and investors to explore investment cooperation opportunities in the province in areas of mutual interest, such as seaports and logistics, industry and technology, renewable energy, and urban development. Additionally, Hoang requested that Ambassador Almatrooshi share information about Binh Dinh with major UAE corporations like Dubai Refreshments, Amlak Finance, International Holdings Company – IHC, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, Emirates, and Etihad Airways, as well as with other investors and investment funds attending the UAE – Vietnam Business Forum 2024, to raise awareness of the investment opportunities in Binh Dinh.

Ambassador Bader Almatrooshi highlighted the positive development of cooperation between the UAE and Vietnam. In 2024, the two countries will celebrate 31 years of diplomatic relations and have initiated negotiations on the Vietnam-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. He expressed his support for Binh Dinh's upcoming visit and assured that he would choose appropriate partners to introduce to the province.

The meeting was also attended by representatives from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Abu Dhabi Chamber). Vice Chairman Hoang hoped these organizations would assist the province in connecting with businesses in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. He also requested their support in promoting tourism and introducing Binh Dinh's OCOP (One Commune One Product) products in the UAE.

Latifa Hamoud Al Ameri, Head of Business Partnerships at the Abu Dhabi Chamber, mentioned that many member companies are interested in investing in Binh Dinh, particularly in high-tech, information technology, and industrial sectors. SCCI and the Abu Dhabi Chamber confirmed that they would support the province during its visit in December and facilitate bilateral investment promotion.

In 2023, Binh Dinh attracted six new FDI projects with a total investment of more than 1.099 trillion VND (approximately 46.2 million USD) and adjusted five projects, increasing the total capital by 46.5 million USD. To date, the province has 91 FDI projects with a total registered capital exceeding 1.19 billion USD. Regarding domestic investment, the province attracted 69 new projects with a total registered capital of 13.709 trillion VND.

In 2024, the province aims to attract 100 new investment projects, including both FDI and domestic capital. Regarding tourism, Binh Dinh welcomed 5.6 million visitors in the first half of the year, generating revenue of over 15 trillion VND.
