Quoc Oai District (Hanoi) has launched construction on three industrial clusters spanning approximately 42 hectares, promising to reduce environmental pollution, create jobs for residents, and drive economic development.
Simultaneous groundbreaking
On the morning of December 26, the People’s Committee of Quoc Oai District, in collaboration with DSG Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, Minh Ha Investment Co., Ltd., and Long Thanh Transportation Construction Joint Stock Company, broke ground on a series of projects involving industrial and craft village clusters within the district.
The projects include the construction of technical infrastructure for the Ngoc My - Thach Than craft village industrial cluster, the expanded Nghia Huong craft village industrial cluster, and the Ngoc Lien industrial cluster.
Specifically, the Ngoc My - Thach Than craft village industrial cluster, led by DSG Infrastructure Investment Joint Stock Company, covers an area of 21 hectares with a total investment of approximately 438 billion VND. The Nghia Huong industrial cluster, developed by Minh Ha Investment Co., Ltd., spans 10.7 hectares with an investment of about 233 billion VND. The expanded Ngoc Lien industrial cluster, undertaken by Long Thanh Transportation Construction Joint Stock Company, encompasses roughly 9.8 hectares, with an investment of about 209 billion VND.
The projects will include groundwork, transportation systems, water supply and drainage, wastewater treatment facilities, greenery, power supply, lighting, telecommunications, administrative offices, service and security buildings, and other auxiliary structures.
After being selected as project investors, the companies have focused their resources, formulated implementation plans, and worked closely with Hanoi’s municipal departments and local authorities to complete the required project investment procedures, which have been approved by competent authorities.
A home for craft villages
At the groundbreaking ceremony, representatives from the Quoc Oai District People’s Committee praised the efforts and dedication of the investors in completing the investment procedures. With their financial capacity and construction experience, the investors are expected to ensure the progress and quality of the projects as committed, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of Quoc Oai District and creating advanced, synchronized, and modern industrial clusters.
Additionally, the timely completion and operation of these industrial clusters will play a key role in promoting the development of local craft villages. These clusters are essential for fostering economic restructuring in the district, increasing incomes, and improving the living standards of rural residents.
Speaking at the event, Nguyen Kieu Oanh, Deputy Director of Hanoi’s Department of Industry and Trade, stated that Quoc Oai District is home to 45 craft villages and residential groups with trades, including 17 recognized craft villages. Over 4,500 households engaged in trades provide jobs for approximately 11,400 local workers.
The district also has 1,436 enterprises and 5,464 individual industrial and construction businesses. The effective operations of these entities have contributed to stable incomes for many local workers.
To streamline the production activities of enterprises and individual businesses, the district has prioritized the development of industrial cluster infrastructure in recent years. Currently, the Yen Son and Ngoc Lien industrial clusters, spanning nearly 30 hectares, are operational, with 25 businesses within these clusters employing over 6,500 workers from both within and outside the district.
Meanwhile, the Thach That - Quoc Oai industrial park, located within Quoc Oai District’s administrative boundaries, is home to 42 enterprises that are operating effectively and fulfilling their tax obligations.
“To meet the demand for production sites among businesses and individual households, the Hanoi People’s Committee has approved the establishment of three new craft village industrial clusters—Tan Hoa, Ngoc My - Thach Than, and Nghia Huong—and the expansion of the Ngoc Lien industrial cluster,” said Oanh.
Nguyen Truong Son, Chairman of the Quoc Oai District People’s Committee, emphasized that completing these industrial clusters is a key priority for the local government. Alongside industrial cluster development, the district also encourages and facilitates the relocation of small-scale handicraft production facilities from residential areas into centralized industrial parks. This initiative aims to provide small and medium-sized enterprises with production space, fostering their development.
