On November 4, Thanh Oai District, Hanoi, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Thanh Van - Tan Uoc Industrial Cluster, which spans an area of 52 hectares.
According to Bui Van Sang, Chairman of Thanh Oai District’s People’s Committee, Thanh Oai is home to 42 traditional craft villages and four industrial clusters, with over 2,000 businesses engaged in production and trade.
The Thanh Van – Tan Uoc Industrial Cluster spans 52 hectares with an investment of over 1,100 billion VND. The project is expected to attract more than 100 businesses and create jobs for 3,000 to 5,000 workers.
Designed as a multi-industry cluster, the Thanh Van – Tan Uoc project aims to attract companies focused on high technology, supporting industries, and clean manufacturing. It is expected to relieve pressure on local craft villages and residential areas by relocating businesses, thus addressing environmental pollution issues.
The cluster will feature modern support facilities, comprehensive infrastructure, contemporary architecture, and closed-loop production processes, fully catering to the needs of major brands.
Nguyen Manh Quyen, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, stated that, so far, the city has launched 29 out of 43 planned industrial clusters. The Thanh Van – Tan Uoc Cluster marks the 30th, with efforts underway to initiate the remaining clusters in 2024. The swift development of Thanh Van – Tan Uoc will make Thanh Oai the second district in the city to complete infrastructure for all five of its designated industrial clusters.
Chairman Bui Van Sang noted that Thanh Oai has proposed a 2021-2030 industrial cluster development plan, which includes nine clusters covering a total area of 386 hectares, with plans to expand four existing clusters to encompass 130 hectares. In the previous 2019-2020 period, the city’s People’s Committee had already approved the establishment of five industrial clusters in the district.
