(Chinhphu.vn) - On the morning of October 9, on the occasion of attending the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits in Vientiane, Laos, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh of Vietnam, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone of Laos, and Prime Minister Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet of Cambodia held a working breakfast.
During the meeting, the three Prime Ministers emphasized that the traditional solidarity, close ties, and mutual support between Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos are a valuable asset. This serves as a foundation for fostering cooperation and mutual trust, and it is a key factor in promoting unity and close bonds among the three countries.
The Prime Ministers agreed that several trilateral cooperation mechanisms between Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos have been established and effectively promoted, significantly contributing to the strengthening and deepening of their cooperation.
Defense and security cooperation continues to be a critical pillar of the trilateral relationship. Economic, trade, and investment cooperation has made significant strides, while people-to-people exchanges have become increasingly diverse. Cooperation through Party channels plays a central role in guiding the development of the relationship.
In this spirit, the three sides agreed to coordinate well in organizing the upcoming Meeting of the Heads of the three Parties, continuing to work closely to ensure national security, build and develop their nations, and maintain regular bilateral and trilateral high-level contacts across all sectors. They also emphasized the need to increase exchanges between young leaders and youth.

The three sides agreed to work together to enhance cooperation in ensuring security, safety, and order in border areas, especially the shared border regions between the three countries. They also emphasized promoting development cooperation in these border areas, particularly by leveraging the efficiency of the land border checkpoint systems. Additionally, they highlighted the importance of infrastructure connectivity, transportation links, and economic integration among the three countries to maximize opportunities for exchanges and cooperation in all fields, particularly in border provinces.
The three sides maintained the principle of not allowing hostile forces to use the territory of one country to harm the security of the others. They also agreed to organize the Annual Meeting of the three countries' Defense Ministers and the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Ministerial Conference on Crime Prevention and Control.
The three Prime Ministers agreed to seek solutions to develop bilateral and trilateral cooperation mechanisms in a more practical and effective manner, for the benefit of the people of all three countries, for the ASEAN Community, and to continue contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his gratitude and hoped that the governments of Laos and Cambodia would continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in both countries to live stably, integrate into the local society, and actively contribute to the development of Laos and Cambodia, as well as the relationship between the three nations.
