Hyundai Thanh Cong's plan for the 2024-2025 period is to export over 4,000 "Made in Vietnam" Palisades to countries in the region.
Hyundai Thanh Cong Vietnam Auto Manufacturing Corporation (HTMV), a joint venture between TC Group (Thanh Cong Group) and Hyundai Motor, recently held a ceremony to export a batch of Palisade SUVs to Thailand. This is the fourth batch of cars exported in October, bringing the total number of Palisades exported to Thailand to 110 units.
This event marked a milestone in HTMV’s production capabilities, demonstrating that Hyundai vehicles manufactured in Vietnam meet export standards. The Palisade has a regional value content (RVC) of over 40%, qualifying for tariff preferences under the ASEAN Free Trade Agreement (AFTA).
In addition to the Palisade, Hyundai's most premium SUV, other models across various segments are also expected to be exported to regional markets such as Myanmar, the Philippines, and Indonesia. In late December 2023, Hyundai Thanh Cong exported the Solati (a 16-seat minibus) and the Mighty N250 (a light truck).
Notably, Thailand is a significant exporter of automobiles to Vietnam. In 2023, 53,942 cars manufactured in Thailand were imported into Vietnam, with a turnover value exceeding 1.14 billion USD. These imports accounted for 45.35% of the total volume and 40.46% of the import turnover of completely built-up (CBU) cars in Vietnam.
Hyundai Thanh Cong's recent achievement contributes to promoting "Made in Vietnam" cars on the global market. Currently, VinFast has exported its electric vehicles to the United States, Canada, Indonesia, and the Philippines, while Truong Hai (Thaco) has exported cars to ASEAN countries, as well as semi-trailers to the U.S. and automobile components globally.
