The leaders of Binh Dinh province committed to always supporting the 4.6 billion USD Hon Trau offshore wind power project.
On the afternoon of October 30, PNE Group (Germany) held an opening ceremony for its representative office in Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province.
The event was attended by Ms. Helga Margarete Barth, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Vietnam, and Mr. Peter Kompalla, Chief Representative of the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Vietnam. Representing Binh Dinh Province were Provincial Party Secretary Ho Quoc Dung, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Pham Anh Tuan, and representatives from various departments and sectors.
At the ceremony, Mr. Thorsten Fastenau, Executive Vice President of PNE Group, said that the opening of the representative office in Quy Nhon City demonstrates the group's great determination for the Hon Trau offshore wind power project in Binh Dinh. The group is committed to promoting the project with all available resources and hopes to continue receiving support from the Vietnamese and German governments and ministries to soon implement this project.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Helga Margarete Barth highly appreciated the efforts and determination of PNE Group and Binh Dinh Province in cooperating to promote the implementation of the Hon Trau offshore wind power project. She also pledged support to accelerate the project's progress.
Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, said that over the past five years, PNE Group and Binh Dinh have overcome many difficulties to achieve initial results for the Hon Trau offshore wind power project. The establishment of PNE’s office in Quy Nhon City affirmed that the necessary conditions to implement this project in Binh Dinh have been ensured. The current problem is the legal basis and regulatory framework related to investment in the offshore wind power sector.
The leaders of Binh Dinh Province presented souvenirs to PNE Group.
However, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan expressed confidence that with the high determination of PNE Group, Binh Dinh Province, and the support of the German Government, the Hon Trau offshore wind power project will soon complete the required documentation to report to the Government of Vietnam, and there will be mechanisms and solutions for the project to overcome regulatory barriers. Mr. Tuan also pledged to always accompany the investor and absolutely support the project.
Previously, PNE Group registered to conduct research and surveys for the investment in the Hon Trau offshore wind power project, which has a capacity of 2,000 MW and a total investment of around 4.6 billion USD, divided into 3 phases.
During a recent meeting with leaders of Binh Dinh Province, Chairman of PNE Group Per Hornung Pedersen confirmed that the project would be quickly implemented once the investment policy is approved.
