The Artificial Intelligence (AI) Center and Supporting Urban Area project, located in Tran Quang Dieu ward and Bui Thi Xuan ward of Quy Nhon City, is invested by FPT Quy Nhon Consortium, including FPT Danang Urban Joint Stock Company, FPT Investment Company Limited, and FPT Software Company Limited.

The project consists of 3 main functional areas: the AI Center, the Education and Training Area, and the Supporting Urban Area. The AI Center will focus on research, training, software development, digital transformation support, providing cybersecurity solutions, social security, and AI applications in life to enhance productivity, quality, and service value. The Supporting Urban Area will provide specialized amenities of an AI urban area, attracting high-quality human resources, especially in high-tech, new technology, and AI.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, emphasized that this project marks an important milestone in the province's socio-economic development. It also demonstrates the province's determination to embrace and apply scientific and technological achievements into practice, in line with the Politburo's orientation.

According to the provincial leaders, since the 18th Provincial Party Congress (term 2010-2015) until now, Binh Dinh has always considered science and technology development as a breakthrough direction. In the 20th Provincial Party Congress, the province promulgated an action program on science and technology development, aiming to position Binh Dinh as a destination for both domestic and foreign technology enterprises and scientists. The construction of Quy Hoa Science Urban Area and the AI Center - Supporting Urban Area in Quy Nhon is a clear testament to this determination.

Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT Corporation, stated that this project will contribute to attracting investment in research, innovation, and AI development in line with the trends of 4.0 technology, towards the 5.0 technology era. The urban area will be built with modern, synchronized technical and social infrastructure, in the nature of an AI urban area.

At the ceremony, FPT Quy Nhon Consortium also signed a memorandum of understanding to hand over houses to officers and employees, who contributed significantly to FPT's development in Binh Dinh. Additionally, FPT donated 40 computers to Binh Dinh Ethnic Boarding High School, supporting students in accessing new knowledge and technology.

In recent years, FPT has actively accompanied Binh Dinh in promoting digital transformation in 3 areas: digital economy, digital society, and digital government. The corporation has also signed an agreement for provincial planning for the 2021 - 2030 period, with a vision to 2050, and a cooperation agreement to promote the province's digital transformation for the 2021 - 2025 period, contributing to soon making Binh Dinh the leader in digital transformation in Vietnam.

Currently, FPT is training about 2,000 students in Binh Dinh, with the FPT University branch in Binh Dinh operating from 2021, focusing on training in AI. FPT's AI Research and Application Center in Quy Nhon continues to bring in million-dollar AI projects from abroad, creating many job opportunities for workers in Binh Dinh and neighboring provinces.
