Foxconn invests 383 million USD in new circuit boards factory in Bac Ninh

On June 6, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province approved and issued an investment registration certificate for the FCPV Foxconn Bac Ninh project in Nam Son - Hap Linh Industrial Park, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province.

According to the latest information, on June 17, 2024, Foxconn Singapore PTE LTD, a subsidiary of Foxconn Group, established Foxconn Circuit Precision (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. as the economic organization implementing the project in Vietnam.

The "FCPV Foxconn Bac Ninh Factory" project aims to produce electronic components, specifically focusing on manufacturing, assembling, and processing printed circuit boards (PCBs) with a total capacity of 2,793,000 products per year, equivalent to 2,989 tons per year. The total land area for the project is 142,693.3 m², with a total investment capital of 9,456.75 billion VND, equivalent to 383.33 million USD.

Nam Son - Hap Linh Industrial Park is one of the industrial parks in Bac Ninh owned by Kinh Bac City Development Holding Corporation.

Previously, in June 2023, Foxconn was granted a 250 million USD investment certificate for two electric vehicle component factories in Quang Ninh. In addition, Foxconn’s subsidiary, ShunSin Technology, plans to invest 20 million USD to establish a new semiconductor company named ShunSin Technology (Vietnam).

Foxconn began investing in Vietnam in 2007 by building a factory in Que Vo Industrial Park. To date, Foxconn has factories in various industrial parks, including Que Vo, Dai Dong - Hoan Son, VSIP in Bac Ninh; Dinh Tram, Van Trung, Quang Chau in Bac Giang; and Dong Mai in Quang Ninh, employing over 60,000 workers, engineers, and experts. As of February 2024, Foxconn’s total investment in Vietnam had reached 3.2 billion USD.

Founded in Taiwan (China) in 1974, Foxconn initially focused on mold manufacturing, then gradually evolved into a high-tech service enterprise. This group is the world leader in electronic manufacturing services (EMS), with a market share exceeding 40%, including 4 main product areas: consumer electronics, cloud computing, computer terminals, components, and other fields.

To date, Foxconn owns research and production centers in various countries, including Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia, etc. The company also holds nearly 55,000 patents in many fields.
