Apple's manufacturing partner invests $260 million to build a new factory in the northern province of Thai Binh

According to the official website of Thai Binh Province, Compal will invest US$260 million to build a new plant on a 40 ha site specializing in the manufacture, processing, and assembly of computers and computer peripherals, information and communication equipment, consumer electrical products, and electrical components.

Construction of the plant will begin in 2023, with an operational test in the first quarter of 2024 and the official start of operations in the second quarter of the same year. Revenues from the new production facility are estimated to reach $1.2 billion by 2029 and $6.8 billion by 2037.

Compal was founded in 1984 as a company producing computer peripherals. Headquartered in Taiwan, the PC and electronic components manufacturer is a manufacturing partner of Apple Inc. and other major technology companies around the world.

Compal's investment in the new plant will rank as the seventh largest project in Lien Ha Thai Industrial Park. This investment decision holds tremendous importance, as stated by the Deputy Secretary of the Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, in encouraging other companies to invest in Thai Binh Province in the future.
