Marvell Technology, a U.S. semiconductor manufacturer, announced on April 17 that it has opened a new office in Da Nang City in central Vietnam. This is the company's third base in Vietnam.
Marvell, headquartered in California, USA, has two other offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The new office in Da Nang will help the company expand its business network with the goal of developing a world-class microchip design center in Vietnam.
According to Le Quang Dam, president of Marvell Technology Vietnam, in parallel with the opening of the Da Nang City office, the company plans to open a new office in Ho Chi Minh City.
Marvell's Vietnam offices will focus on new IC technologies such as optical connectivity, storage, analog, and mixed-signal. These are critical technologies that will accelerate the creation of new infrastructure to meet the growing demand for performance and speed in cloud data centers and artificial intelligence.
Marvell Vietnam currently employs 400 people, mostly engineers, and expects the company's workforce to grow by about 15% annually between 2024 and 2027 and, depending on project realities, through 2030.
