The People's Committee of Hai Duong province has recently approved the investment policy, designating Vietnam Maritime Corporation as the investor for the Ninh Giang Inland Waterway Port project.
The Ninh Giang Inland Waterway Port project will span Hong Phuc and Kien Quoc communes in Ninh Giang district, Hai Duong province, covering an area of approximately 27.07 hectares with a designed capacity of 3 million tons of cargo per year. The project's estimated total investment is 1,496 billion VND.
The project will be executed in two phases. In Phase 1, essential constructions, including hydrotechnical structures, logistics facilities outside the dike, technical infrastructure, and other components, are slated for completion by Q1 2027.
In Phase 2, the project will see the addition of storage areas, office zones, technical infrastructure, and other related facilities, with completion and full operations expected in Q4 2028 within the dike zone.
The Hai Duong People’s Committee has directed the investor to adhere strictly to the legal requirements regarding investment, land use, environmental protection, taxation, disaster prevention, inland waterway traffic, fire prevention, and all other relevant regulations. Compliance with inspections and oversight by authorized State agencies is also mandated.
Once operational, the Ninh Giang Inland Waterway Port will become a logistics and multimodal transportation hub, addressing the region's needs for transportation, loading, storage, and distribution of goods. This will facilitate investment attraction into local industrial zones, boosting the socio-economic development of Hai Duong.
The port’s establishment will strengthen logistics connectivity, integrating Hai Duong's supply chain with Hai Phong and Quang Ninh seaports, further enhancing the flow of goods both domestically and for international import-export activities.
