On the morning of December 14, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, accompanied by a government delegation, visited Binh Phuoc province to attend the announcement of the province's master plan for 2021-2030, with a vision toward 2050.
As part of the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway, specifically the section passing through Binh Phuoc province.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway serves as a key North-South corridor for the provinces of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc. It connects Ring Roads 4 and 3 and extends to Ring Road 2 of Ho Chi Minh City, while also linking with the Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) expressway, airports, and seaports.
The project spans 70 kilometers, traversing Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Binh Phuoc. The segment within Binh Phuoc covers nearly 7 kilometers, running through Minh Thanh ward and Nha Bich commune in Chon Thanh town.
Previously, the Binh Phuoc Provincial People's Council approved the investment for the section within the province, with a total capital of 1.474 trillion VND. Of this, approximately 1 trillion VND is sourced from the central government’s budget, while the remainder comes from local funds.
Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway
The expressway is designed for a speed limit of 120 km/h. Land clearance will follow the planned scale, with a width of 80 meters. The initial phase will feature four lanes, with a roadbed width of 25.5 meters, including a continuous emergency lane.
Additionally, the project will include two parallel roads on either side of the expressway, each with a road surface width of 11 meters and sidewalks measuring 6 meters wide.
As a national key project, this expressway holds significant importance in improving transportation connectivity among southern provinces and promoting the socio-economic development of Binh Phuoc province.
Following the groundbreaking ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and the government delegation attended the announcement of phase 2 of the Becamex - Binh Phuoc industrial park in Chon Thanh town.
Mr Pham Ngoc Thuan, CEO of Becamex IDC and Chairman of the Board of Becamex Binh Phuoc, stated that phase 2 involves a development area of 500 hectares with an estimated total investment of approximately 2.2 trillion VND.
Phase 2 will continue to follow the industrial-urban-service ecosystem model, adopting smart applications and renewable energy standards to establish a smart, eco-friendly industrial park that meets modern investor demands.
The nearly 7-kilometer section of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway includes 2 kilometers passing through the Becamex Binh Phuoc industrial park, providing a strategic advantage for businesses in transporting goods.
The government delegation also attended the inauguration ceremony for phase 1 of an automobile tire manufacturing plant in the Minh Hung - Sikico industrial park, Hon Quan district.
