In this journey, the logistics ecosystem includes warehouse management software, app/web systems, a chain of technology solutions for weight monitoring, conveyor monitoring, smart locks, etc., all developed by a team of 100% Vietnamese engineers and experts.
On January 17th, Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation inaugurated Vietnam's first smart parcel sorting technology complex.
This complex is located in a 32,000 square-meter warehouse in Quang Minh, Me Linh district, Hanoi, and is introduced as having the highest level of automation in Vietnam. It utilizes 200 autonomous sorting robots (AGV robots), a large-scale sorting system (Wheel Sorter Matrix), and a conveyor-based sorting system (Cross-belt Sorter). Viettel Post is the first logistics company in Vietnam to deploy AGV robot technology, thereby increasing the level of automation in Viettel Post's sorting process to 99%.
With over 40 import/export gates and nearly 1,200 sorting gates, the complex has a processing capacity of up to 1.4 million parcels per day, a 40% increase compared to before. This helps elevate the overall capacity of the Viettel Post system to 4 million parcels per day, equivalent to fulfilling 50% of Vietnam's e-commerce volume. The error rate of the complex is nearly zero, reducing the overall delivery time from 8-10 hours and increasing productivity by 3.5 times. Through automation, the complex also contributes to a 60% reduction in the workforce.
The operation of the complex is supervised and monitored by NOC system, which tracks the real-time journey of each order. The intelligent monitoring system includes technologies such as Digital Twin, AI camera, which can control the status of the entire system's equipment and cargo handling operations. It detects and alerts for any abnormal behaviors, enabling timely resolution of any arising issues.
