On February 22, during the Indonesia International Motor Show 2024, Vietnam's EV manufacturer Vinfast officially signed a memorandum of understanding with three Indonesian companies.

According to the memorandum, Vinfast will provide 600 electric cars to PT. Energi Mandiri Bumi Pertiwi, PT. Sumber Amarta Jaya, and PT. Teknologi Karya Digital Nusa Tbk.
Tran Quoc Huy, CEO of Vinfast Indonesia, stated: "Vinfast is honored to be chosen as the supplier of products for other businesses and to explore the great potential of Indonesia's electric vehicle market with each partner. We are committed to continuous technological innovation to accompany Indonesia's customers aiming for sustainable transportation and to jointly create a more environmentally friendly future for everyone."
Additionally, Thomas Agung Utomo, CEO of PT. Energi Mandiri Bumi Pertiwi, stated: "We highly appreciate Vinfast's environmentally conscious vision and its contribution to the electrification of the global transportation market. Vinfast is also known for its reputable electric vehicle offerings and excellent after-sales services. Together, we will strive to make electric mobility an accessible choice for Indonesia and the region, towards a sustainable future of transportation."
The expansion into Indonesia is seen as a strategic step to enhance Vinfast's brand presence and competitiveness in the international electric vehicle market.
