GMS expanded its market to Laos, officially becoming an international ride-hailing company

This is the first step in the plan to go to foreign markets, making GSM a ride-hailing company of regional and world stature, contributing to the universalization of electric vehicles to a large number of users.

According to the plan, GSM plans to launch an electric taxi service in Laos right in 2023, with a fleet size that can be up to 1,000 VF 5 Plus and VF e34 vehicles. Initially, GSM will develop electric taxi services, moving towards the full development of the service ecosystem, including electric car rental and value-added services such as package booking, tourist car booking, personalized car booking...

Besides self-employed activities, in the future, GSM Laos Company will also implement B2B activities such as selling and renting VinFast electric cars, similar to the model that is successfully deployed in Vietnam.

With a diverse approach, GSM will gradually create the habit of using green, smart and environmentally friendly vehicles in daily life in Laos, bringing local people a high-class, noise-free, emission-free travel experience. Through Green SM taxi, GSM will also contribute to promoting Vietnam's pride - VinFast to the regional market.

Laos is a neighboring country of Vietnam, has a policy of supporting and encouraging the use of electric vehicles in state agencies as well as the whole people. The national goal is that by 2030, 30% of all vehicles in circulation will be electric vehicles and 200 public charging stations across the country.

According to data from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport of Laos, by the end of 2022, the number of electric cars registered for circulation is 1,326 vehicles. In the first 4 months of 2023 alone, 526 more electric cars were imported into Laos. Currently, the charging station system in Laos is also being invested and built, of which, 17 points have come into operation.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, General Director of GSM, said, "Laos is a country that is geographically close and has many similarities with Vietnam, and is also very open to electric vehicles and is a great choice for GSM to launch its strategy to go international. After Laos, we will continue to expand our activities to other countries in order to quickly realize our mission for a green future for humanity. Besides, GSM also aims to become a universal bridge for Vietnamese electric vehicles to the world.”

GSM was established and put into operation in April 2023 in Vietnam under the world's first multi-platform green transport model with a fleet of 100% pure electric vehicles. After only 6 months of operation, GSM has grown a record in size and speed, carrying out more than 6 million passenger transports, which is highly appreciated by both consumers and transport units.

According to the plan, from now until the end of 2023, Green SM will be present in 27/63 provinces in the country and increase the size of the fleet to 30,000 electric taxis and more than 90,000 electric motorbikes in the near future.

Along with Vietnam, GSM is also promoting the roadmap to reach out to the region and the world to become a global-scale ride-hailing startup, in which the first step is the ASEAN market, contributing to accelerating the goal of a green future for humanity.
